Do we ever get all that we want OR do we get parts & pieces and like Johnny Cash’s song we end up with a ’49, ’50, ’51, ’52, ’53, ’54, ’55, ’56 ’57, ’58, ’59, ’60, ’61, ’62, ’63, ’64, ’65, ’66, ’67 ’68, ’69, ’70 gentleman?  As much as I hate to admit it, I am beginning to believe that if we (women) do not have something to complain about – we’ll come up with something.  I am not saying that things are perfect here; however, in the grand scheme of things, they are better than most.  I do not want to take any merit from him; however, we all know that my dating life has been nothing short of a hot mess with a side of horrendous.  So, I suppose, my measuring stick is a bit off and if I were to have a man that did not lie, he’s already that Knight in Shining Armor that we all dream of.  I will say that the person I am with and plan to be with for the rest of my natural life is pretty incredible; however, our relationship could be better.  Yet, the areas that need NO work are what I find to be most critical; he’s honest, loyal and the one who has my heart.  As I write that, I should just be able to put the proverbial pen down and go to bed and travel off to dreamland; however, the areas where we struggle, I find that those, while not deal-breakers are the areas that truly pull at my heartstrings.

Am I coming up with something in which to write/complain about OR do I really need the things I have yet to get?
