Clearing The Air

I am in a real pickle.  I’m in an awesome relationship; however, he has shaped a completely incorrect view of me.  We started out more than grand; however, extenuating circumstances marred that blissful beginning.  Where do I go from here?  Is it worth setting the record straight OR do I risk sounding like a whiner?
