Snapper

Snapping Turtles have always been a fascination of mine; however, with Animal Planet’s show Call of the Wildman the allure of the Snapping Turtle has been reinvigorated!  I have not seen many up close; however, this one pictured to the left was very close!  I was not only able to look at him, but, was able to pick both his top & underside.  WOW, they are incredibly prehistoric creatures.  Everything about this small turtle looked relatively archaic, his small size put me at ease a bit; however, I knew that he could still very easily take a finger or toe
